WWE has announced that the WWE Network will feature several special programs leading up to the Royal Rumble on January 31, including a new Pat Patterson documentary. Patterson has been credited with creating the Rumble. Here’s the press release:
It’s almost the start of a new year, and that means only one thing for the WWE Universe: Royal Rumble season!
The 2021 Royal Rumble streams live Sunday, Jan. 31, and WWE is celebrating its annual extravaganza with the Royal Rumble 30-Day Countdown.
Beginning Jan. 1, new pieces of Royal Rumble-themed content will drop every day of the month, between WWE Network and WWE’s social and digital platforms. That means more original WWE Network documentaries and more over-the-top-rope action than ever.
WWE Announces New Documentaries On Pat Patterson And Others, New Programming For Royal Rumble Month
WWE has announced a Royal Rumble 30-Day Countdown of new programming for the month of January.
The drops will begin on January 1 and will run through January 31 when the 2021 Royal Rumble pay-per-view begins. New content will include new episodes of WWE Playlist and WWE Top 10, plus several new documentaries.
New specials on the WWE Network include the Broken Skull Sessions episode with WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin interviewing Bayley on Sunday, January 10. A WWE Untold episode on AJ Styles’ Rumble debut will premiere on Sunday, January 17. There will be a new documentary on WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson on Sunday, January 24, and a WWE Chronicle documentary on Bianca Belair that premieres that same day. A new WWE Roundtable special will premiere on Wednesday, January 27 with Natalya, Mickie James, Nia Jax and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair discussing the firs
Survivor Series, because they’re doing something similar heading into
Royal Rumble next month.
This time they won’t have Undertaker as a hook, but the Rumble event is a draw in and of itself. The quality of content looks to be just as high, too. and maybe even a but fresher than some of the Taker material the company’s repackaged repeatedly over the course of 2020.
