Trainer Matt Dunn: Sydney is the best racing in the world

Expect the Sydney horses to continue the Brisbane domination next Saturday. Waller has Senor Toba ($4) and Achiever ($15) running in the Group 1 Queensland Derby this week. Assistant trainer Charlie Duckworth said punters should be looking at the weather when deciding which one to back. “It’s really interesting with those horses and it’s a good position for the stable to be in because one is unbeaten on good tracks and the other is pretty much unbeaten on a heavy track,” Duckworth said. “See what the weather does and you’ll know which one you’ll want to be on. They’ve got completely different racing patterns as well so it’s hard to gauge.

Hawkesbury Guineas: Exoboom survives protest to bounce back to winning form

Exoboom – even the name attracts attention – had to survive a protest before confirming his star is on the rise at Hawkesbury on Saturday. The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Exoboom unleashed an exciting finishing burst to win the Group 3 $200,000 Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m). But celebrations for Exoboom’s owners and jockey Sam Clipperton for his 500th career win were put on hold momentarily as connections of third placegetter Black Duke protested alleging interference in the final 100m of the Guineas. Keagan Latham rider of Black Duke, said his three-year-old was checked when Exoboom hung in under pressure. “Sam’s horse can across me and I had to take evasive action,’’ Latham told Racing NSW stewards.

SNOWDENS TO CONTINUE LEGACY

RSN927 By Jackson Frantz Co-trainer Peter Snowden is expecting former boom two-year-old, King’s Legacy to bounce back from a disappointing Spring campaign. Snowden confirmed that the multiple Group 1 winning juvenile has returned from a recent spell in terrific order and remains confident that his best racing lies ahead. He said that the Redoute’s Choice colt has been electric on the track and is loving being back in work. “Some horses just don’t come up in the spring, especially the colts,” Snowden told Racing Pulse. “Octagonal did the same thing, then in the Autumn he came back better than ever.”
