The President of the Azores Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, on Monday called for the Portuguese Tourist Board to represent the whole country “and not just tourism on the mainland”.
At the presentation of the action plan “Reactivate Tourism. Building the Future”, which took place today in Ponta Delgada, the social democrat left a challenge “that Tourism of Portugal is really Tourism of Portugal and not just tourism of the mainland”.
The plan in question was presented today in Ponta Delgada by the chairman of the tourist board, Luís Araújo, at a session also attended by the secretary of State for Tourism, Rita Marques, and the regional secretary for Transport, Tourism and Energy, Mário Mota Borges.

Portuguese President awards Vasco Cordeiro with Military Order of Christ
LISBON – Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa awarded today Vasco Cordeiro, former president of the Regional Government of the Azores, with the Grand Cross of the Military Order of Christ during a restricted ceremony at the Belém Palace in Lisbon.
The Military Order of Christ aims to distinguish outstanding services rendered to the country in the exercise of sovereign functions.
According to a press release posted on the official site of the Presidency of the Republic, the ceremony was attended by the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues.
