Her birthdate is contested but she is generally believed to have been born October 17, 1840,  in the Ashanti Confederacy in present-day Ghana. She was a skilled farmer before ascending to the title Queen Mother in the 1880s. It is believed that she was chosen for this title due to the matrilineal aspect of the Ashanti culture and that her elder brother Nana Akwasi Afrane Okpase, who was a powerful ruler at the time, appointed her to the role.

Chronicles of A Nation

+ During the time Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, became angry and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes. But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai. And when the report was investigated and found to be true, the two officials were impaled on poles. All this was recorded in the book of the annals in the presence of the king. – Esther 2:21-‬23 NIV‬‬‬‬‬ ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ …..CHRONICLE has been described as written account of events, detailing when they happened; like ANNALS they are a collation of events in chronological order, each event being recorded under the year in which it happened…in short, historical records….a reference point for generations yet-unborn…akin to the BOOK OF LIFE…..the record of each person’s life here on the earth
