Acadia Parish inmates collect 456 bags of trash in June

Acadia Parish Inmate Litter Abatement Crew began trash pick-up during the month of June.
The sheriff s office says that inmates picked up trash for 14 days in various areas of the parish.
During the two weeks of work, 456 bags of trash were collected along with numerous items including mattresses, washers, dryers, trampolines and tires.
APSO says the program is a cooperative agreement between the sheriffâs office and Acadia Parish Police Jury.

Acadia Parish reported some damage from a possible tornado, but no injuries.
Acadia Parish Police Jury President Chance Henry declared a State Of Emergency for Acadia Parish. Any citizens that were impacted by the events of Monday night can complete a self-report survey to report major damage to their home at
damage.gov.la [damage.gov.la]. Citizens are urged to call 911 for any and all emergencies before reporting damage through the survey.

These projects will reconstruct taxiways, rehabilitate taxiway lighting and runways, conduct airport wildlife hazard assessment/management plan, update airport master plans, construct terminal buildings, and improve airport drainage and erosion control.
