This may go without saying but, books are amazing. If you find the right one, it can transport you to somewhere you have never been, get you through a bad day, help you find your voice, or maybe have you believe that your great love is just around the corner. But we understand that trying to find a good book isn’t an easy task as there are so many novels, memoirs, and biographies to choose from.

Annette Gordon-Reed 81, a law scholar, MacArthur Fellow, and Pulitzer Prize-winning historian, will deliver the main address and receive an honorary degree at Dartmouth s 2021 commencement in Memorial Stadium, which starts at 11 a.m. on June 13. We are honored to have Annette Gordon-Reed as our commencement speaker this year, says President Philip J. Hanlon 77. LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 8, 2021) Amy Murrell Taylor, the T. Marshall Hahn Jr. Professor of History at the University of Kentucky, is serving as the 2020-21 College of Arts and Sciences’ Distinguished Professor and will deliver the annual Distinguished Professor Lecture next week. My colleagues across the College of Arts and Sciences have inspired me in so many ways,” Murrell Taylor said. “To have them recognize me with a distinguished professorship is deeply humbling and an honor I will cherish for the rest of my career.

The Institute for the Study of Global Racial Justice at Rutgers (ISGRJ) named four of the university’s most distinguished academic scholars in civil rights, history, literature, and creative writing as directors of campus branches across the university and launched a postdoctoral program supporting research in anti-racism and social inequality.
The directors, who will lead the institute’s work at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Rutgers University-Newark and Rutgers University-Camden, will use humanistic theories, methods and approaches to study global issues of race and social justice.
