Reserves Face Forest Wednesday, 7th Apr 2004 10:42
Town s second string travel to take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground this evening (KO 7pm). Martijn Reuser, Drissa Diallo and Alun Armstrong are the most experienced players in Steve McCall s squad.
Reuser will be looking to impress after being involved in Town s second goal against West Brom on Sunday, while Armstrong will be looking to do well in front of watching scouts.
Like Reuser, Diallo will hope to do enough to win a place in the side during the run-in.
Young Irish front man Billy Clarke has also been drafted into the squad. Ben Patten and Jerome Sobers, the recent signings from Ford United, are also included.
Fee for Ford Pair Thursday, 19th Feb 2004 10:10
Town have revealed that they paid a small fee for Ford United pair Jerome Sobers and Ben Patten. The central defenders completed their moves from the Ryman League side earlier this week.
Sobers, 17, and Patten, who has just turned 18, were in the reserves side which lost 1-0 to West Ham last night.
Town have paid Ford a nominal fee for the duo which will rise depending on appearances and on any international caps.
The Blues are also playing two pre-season friendlies as part of the deal.
The pair are the first players to join Town from a non-league club since James Pullen was signed from Heybridge Swifts in the summer of 1999.
