Fairfield Lions use strong 6th inning to rally against Manchester
FHS 001 005 x 6 8 0 LEESBURG The Fairfield Lions never let the game get too far out of reach on Monday as they hosted the Manchester Greyhounds in Southern Hills Athletic Conference competition, so all they needed was one big inning to push them in front of their conference rival.
That inning came in the bottom of the sixth, as the Lions went from trailing by a 3-1 score to leading 6-3 when the inning came to a close. In all, the Lions earned a 6-4 SHAC victory to keep the battle in the SHAC Division II standings very close.

(HCP Photo/Stephen Forsha) The Fairfield Lions reached the Division IV District Finals Saturday, March 6 in a game played at Waverly s downtown arena. The Lions played strong against the Trimble Tomcats, but once the final buzzer sounded it was the end of the season for the Lions, falling by a 59-48 score.
Fairfield (10-12) won three games in their tournament run and held the lead against Trimble at the end of the first quarter as they scored 17 points, while the Tomcats scored 14 points. Even when halftime arrived, the Lions trailed by just three points at 30-27.

(Photo courtesy of the Fairfield Athletic Department) The No. 11 seeded Fairfield Lions earned a big-time win in their Division IV SE District Sectional Final game on Saturday, Feb. 27, as the Lions earned the championship by defeating the host and No. 6 seeded Ironton St. Joseph Flyers by a 56-43 score.
The Lions and the Flyers were tied at 9-9 when the first frame came to a close, with Fairfield having five points (including a 3-pointer) from Koben Zink, followed by two points each from Reese Teeters and Jon Bentley.

(Photo courtesy of Fairfield Athletics) Fairfield Lions head coach Chad Hamilton earned a coaching milestone on Thursday, Feb. 4, as the eight-year head coach earned his 100th career coaching win in the Lady Lions’ victory at Grandle Gymnasium by a score of 73-23 against the Ripley Lady Blue Jays.
The win was also a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory, and in the 50-point win by the Lady Lions, they had a total of six players reach the scoring column.
