A suspect is behind bars, accused in the shooting death of a Fultondale father husband and father of seven during a Fourth of July home invasion.
Fultondale police on Thursday announced the arrest of Shikeem Kinniebrew. He is charged with capital murder in the slaying of 55-year-old Alejandro Hernandez Garcia, who was shot in front of his family and less than two hours later at the hospital.

TRUSSVILLE The Trussville City Council approved a revised version of an agreement with Trussville City Schools concerning the use of properties between the two entities.
During its regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, the council unanimously approved the Reciprocal Use Agreement with TCS. In the agreement, the City and TCS agree to “memorialize their longstanding informal reciprocal use agreement in writing to facilitate better understanding of each party’s role in the continued relationship between the parties and to organize, to promote, and to conduct programs and activities that further the education, health and general welfare of the community.”

FULTONDALE When an EF-3 tornado ripped through the city of Fultondale and surrounding areas on Jan. 25, many homes, businesses and lives were impacted. Thanks to a quick response from emergency responders, Fultondale Police Chief D.P. Smith said lives were saved.
“I would like to personally thank all of the fire departments, police departments, and the many medical professionals that helped us Monday night after the tornado,” Smith said. “Everyone’s actions that night saved lives.”
Elliott Hernandez, 14, was killed when his home collapsed. Smith asked the community to keep his family in their prayers, as well as survivors impacted by the tornado.

UPDATE: Hours after a curfew was issued in Fultondale, Fultondale Police Chief DP Smith confirmed three people were arrested for stealing from a damaged home in the tornado devastated area.
21-year-old Josue Villa, 18-year-old Ignacio Villa Ramirez and a minor are charged with third-degree burglary from a damaged house. All three are from Tennessee. 18-year-old Ignacio Villa Ramirez and 21-year-old Josue Villa (Source: Jefferson County Jail)
