FULTON — Hard work, enthusiasm and effort paid off for 17 Fairgrieve Elementary students Wednesday as they received the Fulton Teachers Association’s Award of Achievement.
OSWEGO â The Oswego City School District Board of Education has appointed longtime area administrator and OCSD alumnus Ryan Lanigan as its new Oswego High School principal.
The Board of Education confirmed Laniganâs appointment at a Wednesday morning meeting on May 19, and Lanigan is set to take over effective July 1 to begin the 2021-22 school year.
âThe district is excited about Mr. Laniganâs hire and looks forward to his leadership of our high school,â OCSD Superintendent Mathis Calvin III said in a letter announcing the hire, adding that the district would hold a âmeet and greetâ for community stakeholders in the near future.

FULTON - A popular program for UPK through sixth-grade students to promote literacy in the home has been revived by the Fulton City School District (FCSD) through donations from three area nonprofit organizations.
The One District, One Book program, established through the nonprofit Read to Them, provides all UPK through sixth-grade students with âBrambleheart: A Story About Finding Treasure and the Unexpected Magic of Friendshipâ by Henry Cole â along with the opportunity to attend a virtual assembly and participate in interactive workshops with the author.
Heather Witter, FCSDâs director of literacy and UPK, said staff and teachers are excited to offer the program once again.
