Rape, theft, fraud, murder, assault, housebreaking and robbery are some of the crimes that constables, inspectors and security guards currently working for Ekurhuleni metro police department (EPMD) were convicted for in the past.
The NPA is expected to decide whether or not to prosecute controversial Ekurhuleni senior metro cop Julius Mkhwanazi, who has just landed a new role as deputy chief of police.
It s understood Julius Mkhwanazi was appointed in December, despite IPID recommending disciplinary action against him after it emerged that he was involved in fraudulent activities.
