Germany, Britain donate COVID-19 equipment to BARMM

Published January 21, 2021, 1:07 PM ZAMBOANGA CITY – Medical services received a boost after Germany and the United Kingdom donated COVID-19 equipment and medical vehicles to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Ministry of Health (MOH) last Wednesday. Usman said the German government donated 35 solar generators, three land ambulances, and one sea ambulance while the British government donated three units of biosafety refrigerators and three cold chain vehicles through the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) “prepare, prevent, and protect”

Measles-rubella immunization across Bangsamoro at 94% —BARMM

Danny Pata/File photo The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao on Saturday said it has reached 94.55% of its vaccination target for measles and rubella. As of Dec. 11, the BARMM Ministry of Health has given the vaccine to 470,308 children below five years old. The target number of recipients is 497,414, BARMM announced. The vaccination program started on October 21 in Maguindanao, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. The program started later in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Officer-in-charge health minister Amirel Usman said the vaccination will be extended until Dec. 11 to reach more children.
