iRacing Weekly Roundup: eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series Ends Early
On Friday, it was announced that the eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series would not be continuing for the remainder of the 2021 season. Through five races, all broadcasted on FOX Sports, James Davison was the breakout star, winning two races and earning the most hypothetical points.
NBC Sports was set to take the second half of the virtual season, but it was decided instead to end the season early. In a way, it was the right time to end it before it continued to decline, but at the same time, it’s sad to see it go. Between the seven races last year during the pandemic and the five races this season, the series saw declining viewership and interest.

I saved this mailbag question because it required some digging, though little did I realize just how much. The query is simple enough:
When is the last time that all 5 of Michigan s starters dunked in a single game? #mgomailbag
Michigan had a couple athletic point guards in the John Beilein era and tallied many glorious, dunk-filled blowouts. This should be easy. I ll still go year-by-year just in case something comes up; my shortcut is to use Bart Torvik s play-by-play data to check the number of dunks by the starting point guard(s), then investigate further if necessary.

This article focuses on some of the biggest moments in the rivalry. I agree that Burke s steal and intercepted pass in the last minute in 2013 were incredible and I don t recall Crisler ever being louder, but in some ways the Douglass shot stands out. We were on a 6 game losing streak (and having missed the tournament the year before folks were starting to question Beilein), and that game turned the season around. There weren t many great memories from the Amaker era, but the Smith to Petway 3/4 court alley opp in a game we won at home stands out:

Mo Linguist has been loosed in the Volunteer state and is making it into the new Massachusetts. Also three DTs, one or two or all three perhaps ticketed for nose, when it looked like none.

I didn’t realize this would be serious things until right before the podcast so I’ll have to write an extensive article about all of my ideas later. More or less we’re looking for a Crusader Kings II version of dynasty mode, with the Madden engine and more cheating.
