The Town of Faro, Yukon, says official population counts are underestimating the number of people who live there, and the uncounted "shadow population" is costing the town money.
The Association of Yukon Communities held it's annual general meeting in Watson Lake over the weekend. Over 120 people were in attendance from all levels of First Nation, territorial, and municipal governments. All of the eight resolutions tabled were passed. Resolutions were focused on ensuring Yukon communities and residents have equal rights, and better access to government funding and services.
