SCHOOLS across Flintshire are set to benefit from an additional repair and maintenance schools grant. The Welsh Government has provided Flintshire Council with an additional schools capital repair and maintenance grant of £2.526,501 for the 2021/22 financial year. Cllr Billy Mullin, Flintshire Council’s cabinet member for corporate management and assets, said: “This grant is in addition to the council’s own annual capital repair and maintenance programme which is in the region of £1.8m a year. It covers identified priorities like school toilet refurbishment schemes, roofs and boilers which are essential to keeping schools warm and dry and also support pupils’ wellbeing. This additional investment allows us to undertake more projects this year, which I am sure will be welcomed by our schools.”
