Speaker Bio: Alissa Johannsen Rubin has been a foreign correspondent for more than 20 years in the Middle East, Afghanistan, France and the Balkans. For the past 14 years she has worked for The New York Times and before that she worked for the Los Angeles Times. She won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for her reporting on Afghan women, the Michael Kelly Award for reporting in Afghanistan and Iraq and the 2015 John Chancellor Award.
