Taoyuan beauty salons to close down for a week to contain COVID spread

Taoyuan, June 1 (CNA) Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan (鄭文燦) on Tuesday announced that all beauty salons in the city must close from June 4 to 10 or face fines, the latest restriction imposed by the city to contain the spread of domestic COVID-19 cases.
The announcement made Taoyuan the first municipality in Taiwan to shut down beauty salons, which Cheng described as shops that provide hairdressing, nail and eyelash treatments.
There will be a three-day grace period for these shops from Tuesday through Thursday before the policy takes effect Friday.
