600,000 Payment Cards Stolen From Swarmshop Darknet Market

Get Permission Here s a guide to the national origin of card data that was stolen from the Swarmshop market. (Source: Group-IB) For the second time in two years, the contents of the darknet payment card marketplace Swarmshop have been removed and posted to a competing underground forum, Group-IB reports. The content includes data on more than 600,000 payment cards as well as administrator, seller and buyer information. Group-IB suspects the theft was conducted by some of Swarmshop s users. Although the source remains unknown, it must be one of those revenge hacks cases, Group-IB says in a report issued Thursday. This is a major reputation hit for the illicit card shop as all the sellers lost their goods and personal data. The card shop is unlikely to restore its status.

Darknet Markets Compete to Replace Joker's Stash

Among the darknet marketplaces vying to pick up former Joker s Stash customers are Brian s Club, Vclub, Yale Lodge and UniCC, Kela says. Flashpoint s researchers say the Ferum and Trump s Dumps marketplaces are also attempting to build their clientele after the apparent demise of Joker s Stash. Joker s Stash customers were likely already looking for a new marketplace, says the threat research firm Digital Shadows, due to the site s declining customer service and having its service interrupted by law enforcement officials in December 2020. Brian s Club Rising to the Top So far, Brian s Club has gone the extra mile with its marketing efforts, Kela says. For example, it has replaced Joker s Stash as the official sponsor of the popular underground forum Omerta, which focuses on payment card trading.
