Yakima Farmers Markets Set to Open In May
It s almost time for farmers markets to open in Yakima under COVID-19 restrictions. The Downtown Yakima Farmer s Market is set to open on May 23 through October 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The market is located on South 3rd Street in Downtown Yakima. The other market, the Yakima Farmers Market will be open May 9 through October 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. That market is located in the parking lot of the Valley Mall near Sears. Masks and social distancing will be required and other restrictions may be in place depending upon what phase of the state s reopening plan the county is in when the markets open. But both markets were able to successfully operate last summer despite the pandemic.
