The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra has appointed conductor Cristian Mӑcelaru as the 14th Music Director in the Orchestra’s 129-year history, succeeding Louis Langrée.
Guest conductor Andres Lopera leads the Elgin Symphony Orchestra into its 73rd season in a program of Dvořák’s Carnival Overture, Wynton Marsalis’ Violin Concerto featuring violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins, and Elgar’s Enigma Variations, Sat., Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m., and Sun., Oct. 9 at 2:30 p.m..
