Allerdings spielen bei der Entwicklung des Infektionsgeschehens zunehmend auch Reiserückkehrer eine relevante Rolle. Laut dem aktuellen wöchentlichen Lagebericht des RKI nahm die Zahl der aus dem Ausland importierten Infektionen in den Wochen vom 21. Juni bis zum 18. Juli deutlich zu. Im Zeitraum MW 25-28/2021 wurde bei 2.402 Personen (bei ca. 10 Prozent aller übermittelten Fälle) eine wahrscheinliche Exposition im Ausland gemeldet. Dies zeigt eine zunehmende Rolle reiseassoziierter Fälle am derzeitigen Infektionsgeschehen , heiÃt es. Insgesamt seien in diesem Zeitraum 23.649 Fälle übermittelt worden.
