Angela Irish takes center stage at Theatre Boosters Gala  - Laguna Beach Local News

Not a dry eye in the house. That was the consensus at the Woman's Club on Saturday night, Jan. 20, at the Laguna Beach High School (LBHS) Theatre Boosters Gala: A Night at the Copacabana. The LBHS Theatre Boosters organized the Gala to raise awareness and funds for the school's theatre program. However, a secret part of the Gala was to honor Laguna Beach resident Angela Irish for over 30 years of service to the LBHS Theatre program.

Wendell Brunious, the musical director for the legendary Preservation Hall in New Orleans, and his family visited Laguna Beach to speak with community members and students about New Orleans music's history and cultural significance earlier this month.

Obituary: Leone Knickerbocker Brockman - Laguna Beach Local News

Leone Knickerbocker Brockman was born July 10, 1931, in Phoenix, Arizona. As a child, her family lived in Belmont Shores, Bellflower and eventually ended up in Santa Ana in 1940. Leone attended Santa Ana High, where she met the love of her life, Leonard Brockman at the Senior Breakfast. Leonard and Leone graduated together, the class of 1949. Leone enrolled at Whittier College and graduated with a degree in education.

LBUSD to Host Four Community Open Houses for Facilities Master Plan Updates

The Laguna Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) will host four community open houses throughout April and May to gather community feedback that will inform updates to the district’s Ten-Year Facilities Master Plan. The recommended updates to the plan include capital improvement projects at all school sites identified by a facilities master planning committee.
