Julie grauert. Daniel shiri spear has more with next round of storms. Shiri wind and couple sprinkles out there and still at 60 in lawrence, 61 in nashua, 60 in fitchburg, temperaturewise things looking great, boston at 54, still bunch of clouds out there, 55 in plymouth, and still got very light showers over the outer cape of nantucket. Notice visibility really not all that bad until you hit about the cape and thats where visibility drops to mile in hyannis and half mile in nantucket and where we have the thickest clouds and showers, got the little touch of fog but through noon time get clouds thinning out, thats going to be the brightest time of the daylight morning through lunchtime, and this afternoon in come the clouds again. These are going to be very patchy showers, about 99 of them look light, there could be a patch of moderate rain out there. Honestly it is a couple spot Severe Weather that we had this morning. Showers winding down for now, at least the initial batch of shower
Heavy downpours left big puddles like all over the region and if you look out the window your yard may be litter window your yard may be littered with branches, tree limbs. Things of that nature. We have Team Coverage of the cleanup and commute and Storm Tracker weather meteorologist shiri spear. Winds. Shiri milton, blue hill. Winds gusting 70, 80 Miles Per Hour. That is the reason behind that wind damage. We have some power of winds with overnight thunderstorms. The only flash is right around quincy. Showers have lightened up considerably, but we still have rain in and around the boston area. Winds will be gusting 24 hours. That is not Strong Enough to do any damage. We have a swath of heavier rain extending from hingham to holbrook down to brockton and over to marshfield right now. Southeastern massachusetts for the next hour really going to be my wet spot on radar. Braintree have scituate, hampton, middleborough. Be careful for the heavier massachusetts into northern new hampshire.
19 in worcester. Good morning, everyone. Were tracking some snow out there, patches of steady snow breaking from norwood to westwood. Dedham, needham, back to route 27 stretch down to sharon and thats now including 128 there and stretches back across route 2 all the way through actonen into the Merrimack Valley seeing snowflakes fly here and this now extends here into Bristol County patchily light snow breaking out. At time we see the scattered snow showers and snow squall working through. We dont expect a lot of snow a coating to an inp of snow. When you get under a burst of snow you certainly could coat the roadways and get a few slick spots out there. The story over the weekend is the arctic air. The coldest since last february. I expect temperatures on sunday morning between zero and minus 10 across the area. Just below zero in the city of boston. Factor in the wind, windchill that minus 30 likely in the Worcester Hill closer to 20 to 25 in the city of boston. Time now for fast tra
Back on solid ground. It was a cruise from hell. The Royal Caribbean ship that cruised through a dangerous storm returns to the relief of thousands of passengers. As cruise line officials admit they need to do better. And the return of the polar votext. A huge portion of the country is about to get really, really, really cold. Today thursday, february 11, 2016. From nbc news this is today with matt lauer and Savannah Guthrie live from studio 1 a in rockefeller plaza. Good morning. Welcome to today on a thursday morning. 23 degrees out there. That will be known as a heat wave this weekend. By sunday it could be 1 degree or 0 here in new york city. Bundle up. Lets start with breaking negotiations those four people still occupying a Federal Building in oregon now appear to be on the verge of ending that siege. This 41day occupation could come to an end this morning with occupants saying they plan to turn themselves in peacefully following dramatic developments as fbi put barricades ahead
Its also a windier day versus yesterday as the breeze will be kicking in out of the westnorthwest. Here comes the arctic air pouring in over the weekend. Temperatures crashing saturday afternoon into saturday night, in fact, by sunday morning were zero to 10 degrees below zero. Even the city of boston looking at about minus 1, minus2, windchill running minus 15 to minus 20 down through the south shore to minus 30 out through the worcester hills. So were talking about real cold air, the coldest in at least a year. Well talk more on that first coming up. Christa its been a long time since weve seen that. Danielle, pretty serious traffic situation going on. Danielle heres a look at the expressway. Not much going on there. Lets go to the maps, from braintree into boston, ten minutes. South of town on route 3, 24, 95, no major issues to tell you about, the pike looking pretty good, heading into town from the north. 93 looking pretty good, as well, lets take a look at those drive times if yo
