Woodbury Fire Update

Woodbury Fire Update Authorities have identified the woman killed in the fire that destroyed the Woodbury Post Office last weekend. Bedford County Coroner Rusty Styer says 64-year-old Cynthia Louise Albright died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. The fire started around 6:30 p.m. on Independence Day, ripping through the post office, and apartments above, located on Main Street. Styer says Albright was a Woodbury resident. She was identified through DNA comparison, Styer says. He says her death has been ruled accidental and that investigators are still trying to determine how the fire started.

In Woodbury: New Look for Christmas Fest

WOODBURY — The 36th annual Woodbury Christmas Festival invites all to share in the presentation of community spirit. Since its inception in 1985, local churches, civic, youth, school and business groups have offered residents and visitors alike a wonderful variety of events and activities that capture the spirit of the season in this beautiful town. Due to Covid-19, many of the events held during the Christmas Festival are not able to go forth this year. The town will sparkle with the efforts of residents, businesses and Winter Lights of Woodbury as they present a bright and festive touch with coordinated lighting along Main Street.
