Gender equality is when people of all genders have equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities. The Sustainable Development Goal No 5 talks about achieving “gender equality and empowering all women and girls”. In addition to SDG 5, there are gender-related targets in other goals pertaining to health, education, water and sanitation, cities and human settlements, climate change, economic growth, peaceful and inclusive societies as well as ending hunger and poverty. Govt efforts for transgender community rights supported June 30, 2021 PESHAWAR: A civil society organisations alliance, TransAction Pakistan, on Tuesday, supported the efforts of the Social Welfare Department and Women Parliamentary Caucus for protection of the transgender persons’ rights including endowment fund. KP plans to launch ration card scheme National May 3, 2021 PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that the KP government is planning to launch a ration card scheme on the analogy of Sehat Card with the aim to provide free ration to the vulnerable segments of society. He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of female members of KP Assembly. Chairperson of the Women Parliamentary Caucus, Member Provincial Assembly Sumaira Shams, led the delegation, said an official handout.
