becomes the courtroom as the targets of the insurrectionists, some with emotional wounds still raw, decide donald trump s fate in his second senate impeachment trial. not only did trump s endless misinformation campaign spark the deadly insurrection, but the washington post found that it s also cost taxpayers, you and me, more than $500 million in security, legal fees, property damage and more. on friday, one of trump s two lawyers revealed on fox news that they plan to blame the insurrection on who else, but black lives matter protests which, i should remind you, an independent analysis found were 93% peaceful. and, according to the fbi, some violence was partly coordinated by, you guessed it, white supremacists. there s an awful lot of tape of cities burning and courthouses being attacked and federal agents being assaulted by rioters in the streets cheered on by democrats throughout the country. and many of them in washington using really the most inflammatory rhetoric
