North India Cold Wave: The Delhi Government swiftly retracted an order extending school winter vacations due to extreme cold. Initially issued citing IMD s alert, the directive extended the break till Jan 10. However, acknowledging a mistake, the Education Department withdrew the order, hinting at potential future directives. Unusual cold, with temperatures at 12-18°C, prevailed in parts of Delhi and neighboring regions, prompting this reversal.
Lucknow Schools: In view of cold wave conditions, the district administration in Lucknow announced that all classes up to grade 8 will remain closed till January 10, 2024.
