griff: anita. anita: great interview, griff. great to hear from colonel north. arresting a suspect of a shooting that killed a 19-year-old burger king cashier, you may have seen that. mayor eric adams vowing to take more violent criminals off of the streets. bryan llenas. reporter: 19-year-old crystal nieves started working at the burger king as overnight cashier when she was gunned down and murdered. over $100 in the cash register last sunday. the suspect walked in, pistol whipped a male customer and punched a female manager in the face before shooting crystal as she was scrambling to open the register. yesterday the nypd arrested winston glen, 30-year-old with criminal history arrested 4 times in the past. glen faces robbery and murder charges.
yeah, the nypd says the suspect is also not a u.s. citizen and was out on the street despite several previous brushes with the law. winston glen, jamaican immigrant is now behind bars facing first degree murder and robbery charges. right now the question is how did this happen? glen has been arrested at least four other times in new york city. the most recent happening in november when he allegedly threatened to attack a man with a screwdriver, reportedly yelling i will stab you. glenn was only charged with a misdemeanor and released because the crime was, quote: not bail-eligible. he is accused of brutally killing crystal in that robbery on sunday. the teen starting work at the burger king just three weeks earlier. her family says she was trying to get off the night shift over safety concerns. video shows the moments he demanded all the money in the cash register. she gave it to him, what she could. but he still fatally shot her in the stomach. at the time as arrest this is
