At east 42nd and hubbell avenue. Des Moines Police say the pedestrian was crossing hubbell when a car hit the man. The victim was pronounced dead on scene. Police say they had to shut down the area for several hours to gather more evidence, and the crash is still under investigation. Elias meanwhile in ames, Police Continue to piece together mondays hit and run that left an isu student dead. 18 year old emmalee jacobs of urbana was died at the hospital after being hit by a car on the isu campus. Shots fired in the 1100 block of se olson drive. Shots were fired, however, no one was hit. One victim was taken to an area hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries sustained during the altercation. Waukee high school, Waukee Middle School and Prairieview School were under lockdown for a portion of the morning as a precautionary measure since the the victim was transported to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.
