I have always been interested in the people who lived here at the time of the civil war. A lot of people who read about the battle and understand the general story when you start reading deeper into it, you come across the names of the people who lived in the area. Henry L. Barnett was almost forgotten, lacking a headstone, until researcher Kenneth G. Felton of Castro Valley, discovered this veteran. On Saturday at Santa Cruz Memorial Park (the old Odd Fellows Cemetery), the Sons of Union Veterans will give Barnett a full military ceremony to dedicate his headstone.
