Bat fever hits!

Bat fever has hit Winnebago County. And it’s not just because Halloween is almost here. Thanks to a Green Fund project submitted by the Wildlife Conservation Club (WCC) in spring 2023, UW Oshkosh has been given three bat detectors. PFAS: New standards and Oshkosh

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed new standards in the regulation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a group of human-made chemicals used in industry and consumer products since the 1940s. Though the standards would drastically alter Wisconsin’s current PFAS laws, they should have little impact on Oshkosh given the low PFAS levels in.

Celebrating Earth Day with films, hands-on experiences and more

The UW Oshkosh Sustainability Institute for Regional Transformations (SIRT) will host a series of events this month that celebrate sustainability through education and taking action against climate change.   The events go through April 28, spanning across both Earth Day on April 22 and Arbor Day on April 28. Programs will address sustainability through several disciplines.
