Five major fires are burning in Oregon, including the largest fire in the United States, in Klamath County. The Bootleg Fire was at more than 201,000 acres in size Tuesday. It’s burning actively on the Fremont-Winema National Forest, about 11 miles north of the town of Sprague River.

A fire northeast of Sisters has grown to about 5,700 acres and was 5% contained as of Tuesday morning. The Grandview Fire started Sunday and grew quickly.
Raven Reese is acting Public Information Officer with the Deschutes National Forest. She said a new team has taken over and more resources are arriving to fight the fire, which has slowed in growth.
