Unity residents can do their part and participate in their township’s Neighborhood Spring Cleanup, set for April 24.
They’ll be able to drop off unwanted non-hazardous household items in large trash bins from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the township office building, at 154 Beatty County Road, as well as in several communities in the township.

Affiliates of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, the statewide anti-litter and illegal dumping organization collected more than 1,119,573 pounds of electronics, 11,851 tires, 119,041 appliances and 56,341 pounds of household hazardous waste during the coronavirus pandemic year of 2020.
KPB noted that in early 2020, many municipal trash haulers suspended recycling programs and large or bulky item pick-up citing worker safety and other limitations due to the pandemic.
KPB affiliates, which are county and municipality-based, and its partners also postponed spring and summer special collections to ensure the health and safety of workers and county residents.
