Shrewsbury armed robbery leads to chase that ends in Worcester

SHREWSBURY Police arrested two men early Saturday but a third escaped after a car chase and foot pursuit linked to an armed robbery. Police arrested Alexander Wheaton, 31, of Sturbridge, and Jackson Cote, 18, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, on Saturday after the 3:12 a.m. incident, police said in a release. Police went to Flynn’s Truck Stop, 307 Hartford Turnpike, after a 911 call reporting an armed robbery. The clerk told police that three men came into the store. One was armed and they demanded money and goods. Police did not identify what the person was armed with, just calling it a “weapon.” Police also did not say what the three men took.
