Pip Ridout, the Wiltshire councillor for Warminster West A MASTERPLAN that will see 1,000 new homes built on the edge of Warminster has been approved, five years after it was first suggested and despite a surge of objections from locals. Persimmon Homes Ltd and Hannick Homes & Developments Ltd have won permission to build the homes on what is called the West Warminster Urban Extension, on land north of Victoria Road and to the west of Bath Road. Back in 2016, Wiltshire Council considered applications for 1,403 homes for the West Warminster Urban Expansion. Around 900 homes are likely to be delivered during the Wiltshire Core Strategy plan period to 2026, with the remainder being delivered in phases between 2026-2036.
