Chris Cuomo asks the tough questions to newsmakers in Washington and around the world. Rosenstein look, Jeff Sessions he recused himself. Had to have recused himself because theres a regulation in place that says if you work on a campaign and theres a criminal investigation relating to that campaign the president says it was a bum move and he should have told him about it and it was a total hoodwink. Wrong, wrong, wrong. As far as it being a hoodwink, sessions would have had to have had the gift of prophecy along with the president in order to believe at the time he was ainterest poed, there was was going to be to an investigation thats why i was confused by your initial writings on this one because of my respect for your mind and that rosenstein the only thing he could do is get a prophylactic in play, get somebody who had one layer away from the president , which technically a Special Counsel does, because otherwise he could have been fired like that if he were running it. The fact is that we dont need a direction from the president to the intelligence chiefs to be on guard against russian interference with our elections, number one. Number two, as far as what the president says on any given day, frankly he says a lot of things. He is, i think, campaigning against impeachment rather than saying anything that is designed to affect the outcome of the case. So i kind of brush that off. But to go back to your first point, that we dont need the president for the intelligence community. Thats a little counterintuitive. We expect the leadership from the president to be of paramount importance when were dealing with threats like this, which to the democracy is basically existential. So for him to not be on the same page seems to be highly counterproductive. Its counterproductive, but it is not at all necessarily critical. These intelligence agencies, particularly in an administration where statements get made all the time, i think are pretty much doing their job

Unborn, we have got to guard this moment. This is our watch. And again, i am so, so very proud of the judiciary committee. Im so very, very proud of the Intelligence Committee because they went in and tried to pull out the facts so that they could paint the picture so that america could see it. Hopefully they will not be ladies like the lady at amashs town hall meeting who says they didnt know that there was something wrong that trump did with regard in this Mueller Report. The speaker was absolutely right. She told us a little earlier that she wants to gather all the information and make sure that we have everything we need to paint that picture. Now, what the American People do with it, thats another thing. But we will not stand by and fail to give them let them see the total picture. I, too, thank mr. Mueller for coming forward for this service to our country. Last but not least, it is so interesting that when mueller would make a decision that they liked, they said, oh, we love you

he courageously decided to take the shot but had to quickly run backwards to keep from falling off the cliff. watch your step. spieth later said this about the terrifying moment. i m glad i finished the round and didn t fall off that cliff on 8, to be honest. it was by far the most nerve-racking shot i ve ever hit. like michael said afterwards, i should have grabbed the ball and thrown it in the water. he was trying to get me to not hit it. i said, michael, don t walk up there. he would have said definitely not to hit it. i had to make the par putt because if i didn t, it wasn t worth it. i m not sure any of it was worth it. spieth is sitting in first place at 18 under par. good for him. i m glad that worked out. and that s the news for tonight. i m jim acosta. i ll see you back here next saturday. pamela brown takes over the cnn
