SWEET HOME, Ore. – A woman and her dog escaped from a mobile home fire in Sweet Home Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the Wagon Wheel Mobile Home Park just after 6 a.m. Callers reported that the fire started on the porch but was quickly spreading to the home.
Fire officials said the woman’s smoke detectors woke her, and she was able to get out. The detectors had been replaced within the last month. Due to the quick spread of the fire, if the smoke detectors hadn’t been working, the fire would likely have been deadly.
