CARSON CITY Step into the frame of an authentic TV western aboard the historic Virginia & Truckee Railroad. The 2014 season took to the rails Memorial Day weekend. Steam train rides from Nevada’s capital, Carson City, to the 1860s boom-era mining town of Virginia City began Saturday and continue weekends through Oct. 19.
The Virginia & Truckee Railroad is running full steam ahead this summer with more reasons to explore the Silver State’s ultimate Old West steam train ride through historic Comstock country with new railroad adventures designed for Nevada residents and young train enthusiasts.
