Delhi: Doctor, nurse among 6 arrested for black-marketeering of Remdesivir injections

  A 30-year-old Ayurvedic doctor and a nurse were among six people arrested here for alleged black-marketeering of antiviral drug Remdesivir, police said on Tuesday. According to police, the nurse, Lalitesh (24), was deployed in the COVID ward of a private hospital in south Delhi and would procure Remdesivir injections of COVID patients who got discharged. However, in the records she showed that the drug was used during treatment, police said, adding that the injections were passed on to her associates – Vipul Verma (29), from Laxmi Nagar, Vishal Kashyap (22), a resident of Moti Nagar, and Shubham (23), who lives in Moti Nagar, police said.

Moolchand nurse, three others arrested for selling Remdesivir at ₹70K each Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA Four persons, including a nurse at Moolchand hospital and another employee at IHBAS, have been arrested for allegedly stealing Remdesivir injections and selling them at ₹70,000 each. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Guriqbal Singh Sidhu said the accused have been identified as Lalitesh (24), a nurse at Moolchand Hospital, Vipul Verma, record clerk at IHBAS, Vishal Kashyap, and Shubham. Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid near Haiderpur Bus Stand and Vipul was arrested. Other three were held subsequently. Lalitesh was deployed in the COVID ward of the hospital and used to procure unused Remdesivir injections of patients after they would get discharged. She would show that they have been used.
