Chester nets three gun arrests one day

CHESTER Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky announced three firearms arrests last week in a single day as officers continue to address gun and drug crimes across the city. The first came about 2:10 p.m. Dec. 10, when detectives Victor Heness and Brian Pot were in the area of the 700 block of West Seventh Street canvassing the area for a prior incident, according to a release. Heness allegedly saw a man that was “identical” to the suspect in that prior incident, later identified as 23-year-old Ja’Quan Farrare. The detectives conducted a pedestrian stop and recovered a black .40 caliber Glock 23 Gen 4 firearm, according to the release. The firearm was loaded with one bullet in the chamber and 14 bullets in an extended magazine, the release says.
