Healthy Davis Together adds third COVID testing site
Healthy Davis Together, a joint project between the city of Davis and UC Davis, will open its third COVID-19 testing site at Veterans Memorial Center on Thursday.
Healthy Davis Together provides free, saliva-based COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic individuals who live and work in Davis. Currently testing is taking place at the Davis Senior Center and Mondavi Center.
As the community waits for widespread vaccination, “frequent testing is the best tool to detect COVID-19 before it spreads,” the city noted in a press release on Monday. “One of the most dangerous aspects of COVID-19 is that it is spread by people who have no symptoms even though they are infected and may be infectious.”
