India is preparing for its first manned space mission, Gaganyaan, after the successful missions of Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L1. The project director of Chandrayaan-3, P Veeramuthuvel, stated that India has mastered the technology of soft landing, which is necessary for human exploration in space. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has begun preparations for unmanned flight tests as part of the Gaganyaan mission, including the development of critical systems such as cabin and communication systems.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) team leading the Chandrayaan-3 mission consists of individuals from various institutes, including TKM College of Engineering, IITs of Madras and Kharagpur, IISc-Bangalore, and Bharathidasan University. The chairman of ISRO, S Somanath, holds a B.Tech in mechanical engineering from TKM College of Engineering and a master s in aerospace engineering from IISc.
P Veeramuthuvel, hailing from Tamil Nadu s Villupuram district, will be heading the Indian Space Research Organisation s Chandrayaan-3 mission. The mission launching on Friday aims to soft-land on the lunar surface after a failed similar attempt in 2008 and put India on the global map for soft landing manned-missions.
