Cornell MacDonald Grout, Don, died peacefully and well cared for on October 19th while surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of Jefferson County, in Watertown, New York.
Rosabella Daraoui, Co-Valedictorian
Rosabella is the daughter of George and Mona Daraoui of Rochester, New Hampshire. She is the younger sister of Karen, 21, and Jennifer, 19, both of whom are graduates of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She is also the proud older sister of Charbel, 10. Rosabella attended middle school at St. Elizabeth Seton School and is a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish in Rochester.
Rosabella is a member of the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society. While at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, she earned the Yale Book Award and the English Department Award (junior year), the Math Department Award (sophomore year), the French Department Award and Le Grand Concours Bronze Award (freshman year), and Le Grand Concours Honorable Mention (sophomore, junior, and senior years).
Brewster High School Senior Macie Marinich Accepted to West Point Written by Jennifer Garry
After a rigorous application process that included nominations from Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Representative Sean Patrick Maloney following interviews with each of their selection committees, Macie Marinich is headed to the United States Military Academy at West Point in the fall.
Macie, who has been very active member of the Brewster High School community, answered a few questions for us on what brought her to this point and what he future holds.
What was your initial reaction when you learned you were accepted?
I was definitely excited, but I was calmer than I expected. It was almost as though after all of the anticipation, hard work, and waiting, I was finally able to take a breath and relax.
