orchard lane has been closed by police since the officer involved shooting. neighbors say the man who was hit is the son of long-time residents of the neighborhood. there was an altercation with their son and the police, and he was shot, and is at the hospital. reporter: according to several neighbors, the family involved has been trying to manage the mental health issues of their son. the family occasionally sends emails out to the neighbors talking about the situation. he s in his 20s, grew up in the neighborhood. known him since he was 4. he s got a heart of goerld. just an amazing kid. reporter: it s not clear what led to the shooting and how many officers are involved. the investigation means people not been able to use their cars because the street is closed. that means the neighbors have actually been having to walk back and forth throughout the evening because they can t drive through here. so far, police have only confirmed that this was an officer rovle
