NS running more and longer trains on King s Day

Dutch national railway NS will operate on a special King's Day timetable on April 27. The special Oranjedienstregeling will include more frequent trains that are also longer than usual. More NS staff will also be working during the national holiday, known locally as Koningsdag, and held annually in celebration of King Willem-Alexander's birthday.

Fewer trains between Amsterdam and Utrecht from Feb 14 due to rail work

There will be fewer trains between Amsterdam Centraal and Utrecht Centraal around the February holiday period due to construction at Amsterdam Centraal. The NS reported on Thursday that travelers may experience busier trains, extra stops, and a longer travel time. The adapted times will be from Wednesday the 14th to Monday the 26th of February. Work will be done on the east side of Amsterdam CS on tracks 2 to 8.

Trains to and from Utrecht CS running according to schedule again

Train traffic to and from Utrecht Central Station is running according to schedule again on Tuesday morning after a power outage halted all trains to and from the busy station. At 9:07 p.m. on Monday, ProRail reported that the issue had been resolved, and NS managed to get most of the trains and other equipment where they should be overnight.

Storm Henk caused irritation around the Netherlands overnight

Storm Henk came entered the Netherlands with authority on Tuesday night. Firefighters were dispatched in various parts of the country to remove trees blown down by the strong winds.
