afternoon to you. i m yasmin vossoughian on a very big saturday afternoon. we are following some major breaking news this hour out of memphis. 24 people are dead or as tornadoes ripped through the states. we are live on the ground, a deadly scene in pennsylvania after an explosion at a chocolate factory. we are also following the developments in the strikes and counterstrikes between the u.s. and iranian-backed syria. and, we are just hours away from $1 trump rally in texas. that comes as a potential indictment hangs over his head and it is happening in a place that has become sacred ground for some of the worst extremists in the republican party, more on that. we want to begin in a state of emergency. the tornado break that has killed over 24 people. teams are working to look for survivors across multiple counties devastated. the town is getting particularly hard. dozens of buildings collapsed there. biden releasing a statement saying that he and the first lady are praying f
criminal justice process. whether style trump or anybody else, there are folks and willing to engage the process because the leaders of these institutions are being threatened. that is a larger problem for our system. this has an extraordinary impact, not just on individuals, the violence of the individual, but to our system as a whole. let s look ahead if we can for a moment. so, we saw what happened on january 6th. because of what the former president of the 90s did. we are hearing this violent rhetoric all over. upping security here, across the board. in the lead up to what may come from the man handy s office. the choice to hold this rally in waco, texas as well. is there a link for someone to occupy in the lead up to 2024 that could be the sensible voice of the republican party?

upping security. really intense security measures. so i do think there is a story there. but how much of it was real or imagined is an open question, for me at least. there were some substantive things. one reason he argued that he needed to be in first class at the front of the plane because he could have better security. but didn t he also ask his detail to turn on the lights as they were driving downtown. going through a dinner reservation one mile from the white house. what does the security claim for that? not much there. but this does give you blueprint what president trump will probably say to this guy somebody who was attacked by the media, good guy, did good work for the movement and folks in the audience. also clear that it seems like he thinks he has some sort of future in oklahoma, political future, running for senate, or governor, something like that. and the president is in some ways helping him if he has any
