The University of Kentucky’s College of Arts and Sciences recognized three alumni and one emeriti faculty Friday, April 5, with membership in its Hall of Fame. The honor recognizes UK Arts and Sciences alumni and faculty who exemplify the foundational importance of an arts and sciences education and who have contributed significantly to their professions, their communities and UK.
This episode of "Behind the Blue" spotlights one of the six 2023 Great Teacher Award winners. Martina Vasil is an associate professor of music education and School of Music interim director of Undergraduate Studies. She teaches undergraduate courses in general music methods and graduate courses in music education research and popular music education.
University of Kentucky Alumni Chair Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering Dibakar Bhattacharyya is also the director of the UK Center of Membrane Sciences. In addition, he is a co-principal investigator of the UK National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Superfund Research Program and is renowned for his research on membranes for filtering and producing clean water.
