ELIZABETH – There will be no increase in Union County’s tax rate for the second consecutive year.
The Union County Board of Commissioners passed a $519.8 million budget last week that they said will maintain all essential services and “continues the county’s trend of fiscally responsible budgets, and maintains the county’s bond rating which is the highest attainable.”
Commissioner Chairman Alexander Mirabella said that despite the pandemic, the county s fiscal outlook remains strong.

For the second year in a row, the Union County Board of Commissioners has passed a budget with a zero percent tax increase.

The 2021 budget was passed at tonight s meeting and will maintain all essential services. It continues the County s trend of fiscally responsible budgets, and maintains the County s bond rating which is the highest attainable.
