and if the person who s the gop nominee doesn t recognize that then we are giving four more years to joe biden, and that s unacceptable and america deserves better. you mentioned vivek ramaswamy. he once said it would be an embarrassment and uncourageous for trump to not show up to the debates. last night he said he s fine with trump skipping some of them but coming to some others. why do you think donald trump is not going to the debate tomorrow night? well, donald trump s not going to the debate tomorrow night because he doesn t want to have to defend his record of losing. donald trump has not won an election since 2016. he lost the house in 2018. he lost the senate and the white house in 2020. and he prevented a red wave from coming in in 2022. he doesn t want to have to answer that. he doesn t want to have to answer to the fact that all of his legal problems are self-inflicted. when you know you have classified documents, we re not debating whether or not he had classified docu
disaster, and fundamentally uncourageous for donald trump to refuse to debate. do you still feel that way today? look, if he refuses to debate through the entire debate season, i have issue with that. i have no issue with him skipping the first couple of debates. the truth is many people in this country didn t know who i was six months ago. so, this is a good opportunity for me to introduce myself to the country. he s been on the debate stage countless times. if he wants to skip the first couple of them, i have no issue with that. i think he should be on the debate stage at some point throughout the course of this year. that s where i m at. you rarely, if ever, really criticize trump directly. i think part of that you can tell me if i m wrong is part of strategy when it comes to winning over his voters. how do you beat the republican front runner in this race without engaging him? the reason i don t want to criticize trump is because everybody else, from networks like the one
account. i want to point out to our viewers you were in arizona yesterday and we showed video of those marches a few moments ago. part of that was trying to pressure senator kyrsten sinema who supports the voting rights bill but is one of two democratic senators that believe changing the filibuster is inappropriate and could backfire. that is the only way to pass the kind of legislation you re talking about. so what is your message to sinema and manchin? the bottom line she does not support voting rights. manchin does not support voting rights. we re saying you re going to you re okay with the senate, you re going to protect the voting power of the senate but you re going to protect the voting power of minority but not going to support the voting power of people? that is that s inconsistent and not true. they re being dishonest and uncourageous and we re going to hold them account. we re in arizona, we re going to west virginia and going to continue.
but here s the thing. kinzinger has been at the tip of the spear on this, on the anti-trump stuff. he is with cheney on the january 6th commission. and there would have been no room for him. perhaps the democrats ran a deal where he runs as a liberal or something. there is no room for someone reich this in the party anymore. the more the additionally relevant part is it s not just the courageous people like kinzinger. it s the uncourageous republicans who went along with trump on basically everything except for overturning the election, those guys are retiring. you know, your port mans and roy blounts and replaced by josh mandell, your pro-insurrection maga republicans. so when you have the kinzingers gone and you are not courageous normal republicans and they are all being replaced by maga republicans, that s a very different caucus. it s a great point and also, like, there is a bunch of different things at play here,
