Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the UCC Committee has completed its work and will deliver its report on February 2. The committee was formed to implement the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand. After receiving the report, it will be presented to the Cabinet and action will be taken in the state assembly to enact the Uniform Civil Code Act.
The BJP-led government is expected to pass the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill during a special session on February 5. A committee led by former Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai will submit a report on the matter by February 2 or 3.
